| Richard spending his wages wisely! |
Following the end of our financial year, we can look back with satisfaction in what we have achieved and the direction Ceramic Substrates and Components Limited is heading for future years. All members of the team have been working very hard, committed to delivering quality products not only on time but also of the highest standard possible. There have been some changes in the whole production process; these changes have been implemented with great success. Some changes have been ideas from members of the Production Team, regarding new machinery and ways to create a better working environment for us all, resulting in a balanced and happy workforce. On our Island, there are great volumes of people who support the south football clubs. There are two camps; The Saints (Southampton) and Pompey (Portsmouth). There is always plenty of banter between the two sets of supporters, even though they currently play in different leagues. One member of the team decided he would like to go and see the Saints who were playing at home and I thought it would be a good chance for a little get together for all those interested. Also an opportunity to unwind and see some live football. A group of us from work met up in Cowes at the Red-Jet and headed to the mainland. On entering St.Mary’s stadium, while some of us munched a pasty, buying our programmes, Richard our Factory Charge Hand proudly wearing his own named Saint’s shirt bought his new Saint’s jumper with great pride, Richard is a true Saint’s supporter.

The game was against Colchester (the team I support) and yes I stood amongst the Saint’s Supporters, feeling rather outnumbered? The game itself was a bit flat apart from the last three minutes of extra time in which Saints should have won with a penalty for handball in the box, (not so lucky for Saints, but good for Colchester?). It was a great day out; there was plenty of banter during and after the game.
More from me in two weeks.
