A hot week

The whole of the UK had scorching temperatures last week, as a ceramics manufacturer we are used to some high temperatures when we use our kilns. However, the factory was baking hot with the soaring heat, the only thing we could do was to create a draft and offer the staff ice cold drinks to replenish. One of our employees had to go to London this week for a work related visit. After the shock of the traffic and amount of people compared to our island, the heat was a completely different story. Not used to the tube, walking around with a bottle of water and a suitcase made this excursion a bit of a mission instead of just a business trip. Speaking to each other this morning upon their return I could see a very happy face, coming back to the Island is always something special even if you live here. In our ever-expanding production of ceramic components, we are happy that we can give a new face to our team in the factory, who has been on a temporary three month contract, a chance for getting a permanent position.

More from me next week
